Wave from Virginia

Just posting to say hey, been a while for me to get around to coming over to this forum. But it's good to get another place with a lot of Jeep lovers! Been active duty Air Force for 18 years now, stationed down at Langley AFB in the southeast of Virginia...hours from wheeling, but I make the trek several times a year.

Have a 2010 JKU, originally purchased with the Mountain trim...but there's not a lot of that left. (I mean, the stitched seats are still under the seat covers, but that's about it...and the grill)

Modifications to the Jeep...

- AEV 3.5" lift, wish I knew more at the time, but it's performed well enough, it'll get replace someday.
- Goodyear MT/R Ks (35s) on AEV Savegres. Will move to beadlocks...at some point...but I think I'll always run these tires in some size or another.
- Front steering components replaced with Synergy after some excitement with the dreaded DW, solid since then.
- Full River Raider skids, still makes me wince when I land on something, but at least I know it's protected underneath.
- LoD sliders...far from pristine now, but that's why they're there!
- ACE Engineering Pro Series front/rear bumpers with Rigid light bars in both
- ACE Engineering tubular fenders
- RECON LED lighting for most markers (would never buy from them again, but I have a good working set now)
- TruckLite LED headlights...love these so much. But then, any LED headlight is so much better than stock
- AEV Heat Reduction Hood and Snorkel, possibly the best Father's Day gift I've ever gotten
- Regeared to 5.13s, still on stock axles (for now)

And a bunch of other things I really don't feel like listing in their entirety. Will get some pics once I dig through them.

Good to be here!

Welcome! From Newport News! Me and some friends head out pretty often, and do camping trips in the mountains. You're welcome to join us! We will be going this weekend as a matter of fact. But I'm right down the road from Langley.

Wave from Gloucester

New to the site, but not to forums and Jeeping. I have two Jeeps, an 08 JKU and a 13 JK. The 08 has 4" Superlift and 13 has 2.5 AEV. Spend a ton of time on the beaches of OBX. Been around Jeeps since I started driving, started with an 83 CJ7. Great site here !

Welcome to WAL, I lived in Hampton for about a year and a half before moving to Reno. wasn't far from Langley.

Intro and new Jeep

Hey from Shenandoah valley. Just picked up my second Jeep TJ, a 2006 black golden Eagle with hardtop and a little over 67k miles. Previously had a 2004 black sport with half door and 4 wheel disc brakes but I was in an accident in November and it was totaled. Although I was looking for either a Rubi or another sport with 4 wheel disc brakes (and a dana 44 on the rear) I didn't find one I liked and when I came across the golden eagle, I couldn't resist a Jeep version of an 80's Firebird Trans Am, lol. Happily sacrificed the rear disc brakes. Hard top is nice for commuting and saves me from having to replace a top right away. Replaced plugs, battery, oil, brake fluid and fan clutch. Other fluids yet to come. As for me, A hillbilly vegan who's a co founder of an animal sanctuary and a facilities manager.

Good to hear there's more locals! Ran into someone in town from the forum, which is what brought me here. Busy weekend of garage/closet cleaning for me though.
