Show Off Your Guns!

You may buy a rifle or shotgun in a state you’re not a resident of and take possession if allowed by both jurisdictions.

You may buy a handgun or a serialized receiver out of state. However, you cannot take possession of it until it’s shipped to an FFL in your state of residence and you fill out a Form 4473 and pass the required background check.
make it so complicated people just give up and don’t buy.

That’s the easy stuff. Earlier in this was discussed that someone living outside California could gift an off roster handgun to immediate family. The problem is, buying a firearm for someone else is a “strawman sale” and a violation of federal law. Yes, you can buy a firearm to gift to someone. You cannot buy a firearm FOR someone else.

For example, if a Californian calls Grandpa in Arizona and says “I’ll send you money to buy me an off roster Glock and send it to my local gunshop”, it could open Grandpa up to being prosecuted by the BATF for a strawman sale. There was a case some years ago where a civilian got a LEO friend to buy a Blue Lable Glock (special pricing available only to law enforcement) and send it to a local gunshop to be transferred on a Form 4473. BATFE prosecuted both for committing a strawman sale.

Bureau of alcohol, tobacco and firearms can suck my balls. Good for nothing.

All you can do is throw your hands up and hope someone eventually strengthens 2a via supreme court. At least there is a glimmer of hope with a few of the current cases.

Just got off the phone with my gun shop. They said it’s only allowed if it’s a parent or grandparent that lives out of state. They can transfer it directly but it needs to be registered and all that other shiz.
Registered? Thanks for reminding me another reason to never want to live there again. Actually looked it up. If I were to move to California I would need to register any firearm I own with the state and pay a fee. Also says it’s generally illegal to bring an “assault weapon” into California with very limited exceptions. Whatever an assault weapon is.

Yep, it’s total BS.

Below, a CA legal "assault" weapon. No more than 10 rd mag, which can't be removeable, no collapsible/foldable stock, nothing that suppresses flash. I'm sure I'm missing stuff. Cause you know, people that are willing to murder will follow all these restrictions.

I've seen those guns before. They definitely jump out of safes and assault people. Scary stuff.
