Random Internet Shit you've come across

The last paragraph of that LAFD article:

One wonders just how much dishonesty and incompetence from Democratic elected officials California voters will tolerate before they start voting Republican in relevant numbers.

Unfortunately I don't see voters changing. The smart ones will just leave the state and leave CA behind.

Newscum signed 795+ bills this last year that took effect on the first, some later in the year. Forcing folic acid vitamins to be included in tortillas, ban of all plastic bags (version 2) just to name a couple. Fuck this state government and all the fucking new laws they pass every damn year. Absolutely insane.

Like jeeeep said, Californians voted this guy in and this is the shit they want.

I pray everyday that mass amounts of voters will wake up and start voting Republican. It’s the new California Dream.
Born, raised and having lived most of my life in California, I had hoped that would happen someday as well. Eventually, I came to realize that was just wishful thinking and left. Since then, guys like him got voted in and things only got worse.

Yeah started getting paper bags at the end of December. I definitely prefer plastic, especially the "reusable" ones. That backfired though because people didn't reuse them like they were supposed to and they weren't recyclable like the single use ones. The only ones that win are the stores who are making .10 for every bag. If I had to guess we spend 30-50 bucks a year on bags alone.

I looked at this article and see that the fee only applies to devices with non-removable batteries. Products with non-removable batteries are bad for the customer, and bad for the dump. To me the fee seems like inspiration for vendors to build products with removable batteries, which seems like a good thing. It really sucks to throw away a device just because it's batteries wore out, or find that the provided built-in batteries are crap (but could have been replaced with better ones if they were removable).
