Hercules TIS Offroad RT1

Well, I am getting new tires on the stock 2024 Sport S.

The tires are Hecules DIS Offroad RT.

Since we are needing tires we are only going up a size for the current wheels. LT285/70r17.

Going to see how good these tires are. Heard a bunch of good about them. Once we finally get started on the build of this Jeep we will finally get wheels and much bigger tires.

When I get them on tomorrow I will measure them and place the information in the thread about true tire sizes.

286s?

Hope they work out well for you. I know Hercules is made by Cooper/Goodyear and while I have liked many of their tires in the past, I haven't been buying from them since they went woke.
Right, but they were the best rated tires that fit my current budget.
Once we get to the lift and all that, I plan on going Nitto or BFG.

Not sure how long it’ll be before you begin the build and get bigger tires but the much more superior tires that Nitto, Toyo, BFG, and even Falken make are only $50 - $70 more each which is worth it for me.

If you can’t swing another $200 to $400 for a set of 5 I’d just keep the stocks (or replacing with the same tires) a little longer and save your money for the bigger set, saving you from buying 2 sets of more expensive tires. Just my opinion.

Thanks for letting me know what you can afford today.

For this size and for a need-now replacement, I had to keep the total under $1,500. I ended up at $283 per tire out the door (mounted, balanced, road hazard, etc., about $225 per tire for the tire alone).

When I priced the popular options everyone mentions in this size, the numbers just weren’t close. Nitto Ridge Grapplers weren’t even in stock locally and were $320 per tire tire-only. BFG KO2s were $325, Toyos were $330, and Falkens were $315. All of them before taxes, mounting, balancing, or road hazard, etc.

Once the build actually starts, wheels and bigger tires will come. For now, this fit my budget and current situation.

The Goodyear wranglers are cheaper and probably way better. I think they are just the old duratecs that they just renamed.
Goodyear Wranglers are complete shit tires.

I will give my verdict on these tires in due time. Was it a waste? IDK. But I have had good luck with Hercules in the past on my trucks.

Lol the stock Goodyear Wranglers actually did just fine when I had them - wore well and were quiet - and I wheeled my Jeep pretty hard when it was stock. No need to get all butthurt over “what I can afford.”

Don’t post up what you chose to go with on a forum if you can’t handle other people’s opinions on what you should go with.

Mine came stock with Nexian Roadian ATX tires, they sucked balls.

And to be honest, opinions only matter when asked for.

If you don't understand what the post was about, it was letting it be known that I will share the true height on the appropriate thread as was requested so wayalife can build a database on true tire height.

I'm assuming you don't know what tires I am talking about. These are far from crap.

And about $100 less than what you paid.

You say that but Hercules is literally made by Goodyear/Cooper.

There is a difference between the Cooper branded and Goodyear branded tires. Yet you assume that Goodyear and Hercules are the same process, materials, etc.? Same can be said of Mastercraft as well. Since they are all under the same parent ownership of Goodyear. Parent ownership does not mean the exact same is being produced at the different brands.

I have had no luck with the shit Goodyear puts on the market. I have had better luck with Hercules. So there is also the personal preference situation too.

Get over being offended.

Hell, these TIS Offroad RT1 tires hit the market in April or May of 2025, so they are still new.

Clearly you’re the one offended. Nice post edit bro.
