WAYALIFE on the GO : Miscellaneous Photos from Cindy & Eddie!

Yes, he's all fixed up now. Long story short, we took him into a local shop to have our rear ABR air leak fixed and they totally jacked up the whole thing. Ended up needing new gears on top of a new locker and of course, setup
Despite this air leak/repair is the ARB air locker preferred over an electric locker? Is the ARB the gold standard for lockers?

eh, yes and no. When it comes to selectable lockers, I would probably give it to ARB being that when it's working right, it always works and right away - ON or OFF. This is not always the case with e-lockers. If there is hesitation in my voice, it's because when they are NOT working right, they can be totally useless.

For instance, when the air leak in the locker is bad enough, it simply will not work. If you melt or cut an air line, something that is common, they will not work. There are things you can do to help the later like installing braided stainless steel lines (something I always do) but there's little you can do about an internal leak short of taking everything apart to fix it.

That said, I do need to point out that I've ONLY ever had a problem with my Dynatrac ProRock 80 ARB. The PR60's and PR44's I've run in the past with ARBs have all been great.

On a final note, all the e-lockers that I've had on the JL's and JT's that I've owned and still own and even on my UD60's, all work as well as can be expected with an e-locker. They can be slow to engage and disengage but so far, they always do. This as opposed to the ones I've had on my JK's in the past of which, most just ended up not working over time.

I had issues with my PR80 ARB too.

LOL - well, of course you did. NOBODY I know with one hasn't had problems with it. Sucks too because there's no other alternative available.

Hoping the BRAND NEW locker and all new parts hold up because so far, it works and I have no air leaks. I can't even say that about the original as it leaked from day 1.
