Wave from Oregon/Hawaii

Hey all, I've been a member for a little while but haven't had the time to post due to being stationed on a ship. That time has past and now I'm headed to Hawaii with my wife and our 2 Jeeps Disaster (JK)(mine) and Venom (TJ)(hers). I can't wait to talk to everyone on here about parts and trails and what not.

X2, welcome to WAL. Yes, what island are you moving to? If it's Oahu your Jeeps need to get a RECON to be able to operate them on the roads....

We are moving to Oahu! Flying out today! The navy is shipping Disaster for us and says it might take up to 39 days to get there but we are definitely excited.

Welcome to Wayalife! Are you going to be at Pearl Harbor? I'll be moving there in about 9 months or so. Should be a nice change. It can feed my fishing and sailing habits at least!

How hard is RECON to pass?

Not that hard. You would need to get a recon sticker before you can get the safety sticker.
1) you need a current alignment printout proving your Jeep is within specs as you get the recon.
2) mud flaps for the rear
3) make sure your front side marker light at your fenders are functional
4) it could be a bad angle from the pic of your jeep, but the fenders need to fully cover your tire thread. If not people temporarily attach garden/landscaping trim to the fenders.
