So, I can't track down this annoying "tap" in the front end... and, my JKU has about 43K miles on it. It's lifted and all that jazz. I just did the ball joints not long ago and am about to change all the tie rod end links, order a RHD drag link, the sleeve and drag link TRE. so far this is my shopping list:
-Raybestos 425-1065 Professional Grade Steering Tie Rod End Adjusting Sleeve (sleeve broke at the alingment shop)
-Moog ES800594 Tie Rod (left side TRE)
-Moog ES800593 Tie Rod (right side TRE)
-Moog ES3624 Tie Rod End (drag link TRE)
-Tie Rod End Adapter 8001-03-01 (sleeve for drag link flip)
-Socket, Tie Rod, Inner 2007-2014 JK WranglerDrag link tie rod end; to knuckle. 52126058AD
Grand total so far is right at $190 from amazon... and NO AUTO PARTS STORE on this rock has this stuff in stock for less than $70 each...

Am I missing anything?

well...take off the drag link and sleeve...apparently Amazon didn't like sending those to Oahu

tap? like a regular rythmic tap as your driving on pavement?....

uhhh..no rythem...only "certain" spots in the cycle of the steering wheel. It honestly feels like a loose track bar the the axle side (already fixed that) I tent to want to think that it is the u-joint in the shaft.. But am unsure.

What ball joints did you put in? The Dynatrac bottom joints were hitting someone's axle (I can't remember who it was though) but he did a little grinding on the yolk of the axle shaft and it fixed it.

this issue has been in existance since the day I bought it.. haha. I did ALLOY USA ball joints...of whish I wouldn't do again... But whatever, hopefully they last

That's the older ones on '12+ jeeps. The newer dynatrac ball joints fit fine because they are lower profile. It was docknocker who had the original issue but I've done the same thing when I installed my dynatrac ball joints.

Oh that's good cause I got a used set but the jeep is an 09

Have you considered Ebay? I remember buying all of my Moog steering components on Ebay for much cheaper than the retail brick and mortar stores.

I got all the TRE's shipped for like $90 from good ol Amazon. Only parts I need now are the RHD drag link, the sleeve for the knuckle, and the driver side TRE adjsuting sleeve of which apparently NO ONES SHIPS TO HAWAII....

Have you checked with crown?

Today I was doing some wire cleaning up and what not, torqued the control arms all steering/ suspension components and went for a drive. Still had the weird tap. Got in the garage and looked over the steering shaft, torqued the clamp, checked the out put shaft and still felt this tap. So I started isolating some sections where there were moving parts. Made it to the fire wall... You know that thing the steering shaft comes out of.. Yea, I think that was my problem. Tightened both nuts to the plug and we'll see if that was it. I think it was, but will let you guys know after I get to work.

I haven't conducted a whole lot of searching spedifics, but I will. My plan is to do the poor man DL flip, grab an RHD DL, the sleeve, tap the knuckle and wallah, magic. I'll hit them up on Tuesday!

I stole that idea from Strizzychris and did the install yesterday. It worked perfectly and drives great

Where'd you buy the dl from?

There is a place local that sells rugged ridge. It was more $ but came with the bushing, has a 5 year warranty and was in stock. I was most worried about drilling the knuckle but I went from 5/8" to 13/16" a little at a time

And the bushing just tapped right in with a hammer

I know its alittle late but for anyone who is going to replace their stock draglink end the part number is off in most auto parts stores systems its es3625 not 3624 just replaced mine last weekend took about 3 hours and 3 trips to the parts store to get it straight.
