Hello everyone,
I just wanted to give a quick intro about myself and the project I recently started.
My name is Ty, I'm originally from Ohio, lived in NM for awhile and am now in SLC UT. I'm mechanically inclined but a newbie to the jeep building thing.
It all started in the year of 2013. Only knowing I wanted a beast of a jeep, how long it would take me getting there, and that I don't have bottomless pockets, I ordered a 2014 JKU Sport S (Because electric windows are underrated) and drove'r off the lot with 9 miles.
I spent the next 2 years trying to get out of debt and this past year planning the build. Basically by the time I stoped changing my mind, for the most part, I had a monster truck in the works. Coming back to earth and finally freeing up sufficient funds, I figured the best place to start is with 1 ton axles.
So here I am, taking the plunge into my first legitimate jeep build. I may be out of debt for the most part but I still don't have the money to out right buy Pro Rocks. The next best thing? Axles of an '06 F-350, picked them up for $800. Next I went ahade and bought both Artec truss kits.
Hours... Days invested in cutting and grinding, I finally mocked up the truss' and they're ready to track and weld on.
And that's about where I'm at.
