At what point should I invest in dual batteries or/and a high output alternator.

After delaying getting a dual battery setup and High Output alternator for a few months I finally decided it was probably time to get one of the two or both after my two most recent mods a dual ARB compressor and a Sub/Amp setup which will suck up even more power from the battery. Im pretty concerned about coming out to the jeep one day and it just being dead.. What will make the most difference a dual battery setup or a High Output alternator? Or will I be fine with what I have and am I worried for nothing?

Below is a list of all the electrical accessories on my jeep..
- 3 Rigid SR-Series backup lights
- Spod which runs all of the Rigid Lighting
- Trucklites
- Dual Arb Compressor
- 2000 Watt Amp with 2 12" subs (with a capacitor so the lights wont dim when it hits hard)
- 8,000 Pound Warn winch

Well...the subs and amp will be the biggest strain. I've always ran (when I was in high school and blew my cash on that sort of thing) up to 2000W on my stock battery and alternator without issue...but I'm not saying it's a good idea.

What I would do is make sure you have an inline fuse going to your amp. If you pull it before wheeling (because you're an asshole if you are blasting 2000W in nature) then you'll never have an issue with the rest on a stock alternator and single battery.

But if you are expecting large surges, I'd upgrade to a high output alternator first. A stock alternator will go bad under all of that strain, even with dual battery

Haha yeah dont worry I made a switch wired up to my dash so I can kill the subs and amp at any time.

Ive been looking for HO alternators for the 3.6l and cant seem to find any. Have you had any luck?

I run LED everything so that lighting will NEVER be an issue. Other than that my winch and eventual onboard air which still won't ever be a problem.

Your issue is the amp and subs. If you ditch that, you'll never have an issue either. If you can't ditch it, make sure that NO other add ons(air, lights, winch, etc.) are on when the subs are and see how long it lasts....you may never have an issue.

Defiantly not gonna ditch it I just installed it haha! And im in high-school!! Only other accessory I would run with them would be my running lights which is a set of rigid cubes would that be fine do you think?

Do you mean LED headlights? If so, then yes you'd be fine.

If you mean a set of A-pillar off road lights, then you shouldn't be running those while on the road. If you ARE turning your off road lights on, then that means you are offroad and shouldn't be running 2000W in nature, and therefore you'll never have issues either.

I refuse to give you advice on how to run subs AND off road accessories at the same time. Sorry, I'm an asshole adult like that ;-)

I'm not referring to Apillar rigids. I'm referring to the ones I have in my fog light holes of my poison spyder bumper.... And ok no one is forcing you to give me advice..
