definately need gears. my CJ5 with the 258 I6 had a very noticable power loss when i installed 33's, so i imagine 35's would be even worse.

X2 I have the 258 in my CJ5 and it is a very strong and reliable motor. Wiring for it is very simple, being carbureted, just needs fuel air and spark to run, most of the wiring is for gauges and switches and lights.
