Generally people think they need one in the event they are in an accident and crush the winch or wires and they short out. Drive like you own a jeep and not a teenager with a hotrod and you'll be fine. Oh and wire it correctly.

Same with my wife's JL. Want to throw my 35's on it and go to 37's on my JT which she is all for except my mother in law is 82 and struggles to get in at stock height.

Found these aluminum solar LED lights that my wife wanted for backing up through the fence at night. Went through a few masonary bits but it looks pretty cool at night. Hopefully nobody tries to land a plane on it.

When electronics work they can be great. The downside is when they don't they are usually a bitch to solve. Typically they tend to fail at the most inopportune time. JMO.

Like some of you I've been using red loctite for 30yrs on everything from my race cars to my 4x4's. Never a problem backing a bolt out.
