Is it safe to use screws to mount here?

There is plenty of aftermarket options that bolt into that factory bolt in the tray that look great and are super sturdy. I have one from BulletPoint and it’s been rock solid even on high speed desert runs - phone doesn’t budge.

The radio mounts right under that and the plastic is not very thick like @DirtHeadDavis said you’d be better off with a mounting solution like bulletpoint it’s also what I run on mine and it’s solid

Thank you all for the replies. I found the Tackform and ordered a base and a mount that would go with.
Now, looking for 13" XPS-13 , 2-in-1 , mount which I use for DeLorme TOPO USA GPS routing.
