Old School Cool

We looked at a house around the corner from us beginning of the year that had those wood panel walls all throughout and smelled exactly like a bowling alley circa 1995. It was rough. lol
Our first house had paneling like that in the downstairs rec room. When I went to remove it I discovered it was not only nailed but they glued it with some kind of freaking black tar like super glue whatever. Needles to say I ended up priming and painting over the wood paneling.

We had paneling about half way up the wall from the floor of the eat in kitch in the house I grew up in. When my mom had the kitchen redone they couldn't pull the paneling off because of the glue. They ended up cutting the dry wall along the top of the paneling and ripping off the drywall with the paneling still attached.. That glue was amazing!

Ok, it wasn’t really cool then and it certainly isn’t now but holy hell, wood grain was truly the BLING of the 80s 🤪

We renovated a 1980's double wide trailer at my old station and stripped everything down to the studs. New drywall, paint, flooring, fixtures and appliances throughout however we left the hall closet "stock" as a portal back in time. Complete with wood paneling and orange carpet. That's what happens when you have firemen play contractor...haha.

I still remember the Realistic brand clock radio my grandma got me for Christmas when I was 7. All woodgrain. Though it was so cool I could play music in my room.
