@Firehawk - after a little more research and forum discussion reading I went ahead and got the Daystar lift. Should be getting here tomorrow. Thanks for the input. I will be curious if this kit comes with the black powder coat or the bare metal.

Yah, overall its only an annoyance to have to remove the panels. That roof rack seems to complete the Renny! So its going to be a must on my list.

1. Check the adjustment knob near the steering wheel (left side) that controls the lighting of your gauges and radio. Flip that around a bit to verify that the problem isn't from little bugger shorting. 2. Do you leave any items on your dash? Those kinds of things can roll over the light...
