    go diesel or nah?

I've had my 2023 Sport S Gen3 diesel with the HD towing components a little more than a year with 17,500 miles on the clock and experienced absolutely zero issues. It was likely one of the last ones built and I have no regrets.

What was done to your rig this week?

I carry a portable 2000W generator with a pure sine wave inverter or I can plug into shore power when the Gladiator is not running. Maybe I'll invest in a power station down the road, but for now, I'm mostly concerned with connectivity on the move in remote areas like central NV or eastern OR.

What was done to your rig this week?

Installed Starlink with Standard dish and Unlimited Roaming ~400mbs DL My 2023 Gladiator came with WiFi hot spot capability using AT&T and I used it for more than a year with the only issue being when I was out of range of their cell service, I would loose Internet connectivity. So I recently...

What was done to your rig this week?

Installed TerraFlex 1.5" Leveling Kit on JT Sport S Diesel I won't bore everyone with all the details, as this installation has been the subject of numerous posts and videos over the last 5 years or so, but I did run into one self-inflicted issue; if you are doing this install on the ground, be...

    Trail Radios.

Come to think of it, if I had that many antennas on my camper van, it would be diagnosed with Van-Ariel disease. Oh snap! I do.

    Trail Radios.

2 Baofeng UV-5R+ programmed for FRS/GMRS, NOAA weather and WoL frequencies, 40 channel SSB/CB, Jeep connected SOS and WiFi, Starlink satellite, an iPhone and iPad. I think that about covers it :)

AuxBeam (Bulletpoint) 8 gang switch panel and 40 channel SSB/CB radio installation on @wayoflife CB bar I installed the AuxBeam (Bulletpoint Labled) 8 gang Auxiliary Switch Panel and control box in my 2023 Jeep JT Gladiator Sport S Diesel along with several other Bulletpoint mounts for a...

What was done to your rig this week?

Chirp Programming Baofeng UV-5 hand-held radios for GMRS NOAA and Eddie's special sauce with Linux A while ago I purchased a couple of Baofeng UV-5R +plus (redundant, but that's the model moniker) which came unlocked for programming from the distributor. This is a dual-band (amateur and...

Who else here has a Power Wagon (and a Jeep) ?

I have an earlier Gen Power Wagon (1976 W100 w/318 LA) that I took off the road and use around the logging camp where the Cat can't go safely to set chokers and pull out the cut timber for loading. It even unstuck a fully loaded 40' diesel motor home once that I couldn't budge with my 03 3/4...

ANOTHER WINDSHIELD Bites the Dust - What Number are You On?

With the JT, I'm still on the original, but one day after getting a ding low on the driver's side, it got hit hard enough the next day to instantly crack on the passenger side. I've been through one replacement on my JKU and it needs replacing again so I'll hold off on the JT for now as the...

What was done to your rig this week?

Getting the XJ ready to say goodbye. A few years ago, I bought this XJ at an insurance auction because it was cheap and used it as a support vehicle for our logging and farming operation in Oregon. It ran great and never got stuck; although I tried. Over time, we picked up several Dodge 4x4s to...

Welcome to the TOW RIG THREAD

Absolutely, but the new owner had to put it on a lift, spray the underside, drive it to the dock, drain the gas and remove the battery before they would put it on the ship. I had to go through the same drill when I sold a 56 Plymouth Savoy to a dealer in New Zealand who then had to convert it...

    Thoughts on JKS quick disconnects

Likewise. After I bought my JKUX new in 2008, the JKS front sway bar disconnects were one of the first of many modifications. My experience was OK, except it rains a lot at times in the PNW and I hate crawling around in the slop and mud, so as soon as I could afford it, they were replaced with...

Punk'n the 2023 Jeep JT Gladiator Sport S Diesel with HD Towing

About the time the first Gladiators became available in late 2019, I thought it would be nice to order a 2020 Sport S model with the HD towing package. My wife and I test drove a Rubicon model at a local Jeep dealership and she decided that's what we needed, but it didn't have the Max Tow...
